Created at the initiative of Cnamts, this council is responsible for giving a scientific opinion about the issues referred to it by the Head of the Cnamts or in which it sees particular interest for the Health Insurance system.
Set up in 1999, Scientific Council steers research on social sciences concerning the organisation of healthcare services so as to shed light on the choices that the Health Insurance system will have to make in the coming years. Its objective is to encourage research into anything relating to the organisation of healthcare services, not on a clinical or biological point of view, but on the basis of social science studies referring to concepts in the fields of sociology, economy, law or anthropology.
It is chaired by Professor Marc Brodin and has 20 members (including the chairman). Cnamts' Scientific Council members are independent individuals, appointed by the Council President and Cnamts Managing Director, on the national medical adviser's proposal, for a renewable 3-year period.
